A slab leak occurs when a water pipe running beneath a home's concrete foundation develops a leak due to corrosion, shifting soil, or high water pressure. Because the leak is hidden, it can go unnoticed for an extended period, potentially leading to costly damage.
Detecting a slab leak early is crucial for minimizing damage. Some common signs that indicate you may have a slab leak include:
Unexplained Increase in Water Bills – If your water bill suddenly spikes without any changes in usage, you may have a hidden leak.
Warm Spots on the Floor – A leaking hot water line can create noticeable warm spots on your flooring.
Damp or Moldy Carpets and Flooring – If moisture is seeping up through the floor, it could be due to a slab leak.
Low Water Pressure – A hidden leak beneath the slab can reduce water pressure throughout your home.
Sounds of Running Water – If you hear water running when no fixtures are on, you may have a leak beneath the slab.

When you suspect a slab leak, it’s crucial to contact a licensed plumber in Fullerton who specializes in slab leak repair. Here are some common repair methods.
Leak Detection – Plumbers use specialized equipment such as acoustic sensors and infrared cameras to pinpoint the exact location of the leak.
Pipe Rerouting – If the damaged pipe is beyond repair, plumbers may bypass the affected section by rerouting the plumbing through walls or ceilings.
Epoxy Pipe Coating – This method involves coating the inside of the pipes with epoxy to seal small leaks and prevent future corrosion.
Direct Access Repair – In severe cases, plumbers may need to break through the slab to access and replace the damaged pipe.
Trenchless Repair – This modern method allows plumbers to repair or replace pipes without extensive excavation, minimizing damage to your home.
While slab leaks can be unavoidable in some cases, homeowners can take steps to reduce the risk.
Monitor Water Pressure – High water pressure can damage pipes, so installing a pressure regulator can help.
Schedule Regular Plumbing Inspections – Having a plumber check your pipes periodically can help detect potential issues before they become serious.
Use Quality Piping Materials – If you’re replacing pipes, opt for durable materials that resist corrosion and wear.
Maintain Proper Drainage Around Your Home – Ensuring that water drains away from the foundation can help prevent soil shifting and slab movement.

Highly recommend High Speed Plumbing! We had a blocked main line, called several plumbers who overcharged, didn’t show, and said we needed other unnecessary services that cost thousands. We finally called HSP, they got us an appointment same day, within a couple of hours. Jonathan Pineda was on time, very courteous, professional, knowledgeable, communicative , and assessed the issue quickly. Had all the tools to unblock and run a camera in a short period of time. Didn’t overcharge or offer other services we didn’t need, and explained everything along the way. Give us great advice to avoid future issues and maintain a clear line. We were very happy with the service , rapid response, reasonable costs, respect, and treatments from High Speed Plumbing. Highly recommend them to anyone for plumbing services.
The first time I used this company last year, I wasn’t happy with the service. The only reason I called again this time was because another plumber wasn’t available. However, I was pleasantly surprised they were able to see me the same day. Enrique was knowledgeable, thorough, and got my kitchen sink unclogged in about an hour. I really appreciated the improvement in service this time around.
High Speed Plumbing is absolutely top-notch from start to finish. They were professional, honest and incredibly friendly. They explained everything clearly gave me fair transparent pricing, and made sure the job was done right the first time they went above and beyond to be helpful and their customer service truly stands out. It's rare to find a company that combines quality work and genuine care for their customers. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable plumbing service!
Our service technician, Chris, showed up on time was professional and friendly. I had a leak coming out of the bottom of the wall in the garage. Chris was able to diagnose the leak quickly and take care of the problem. He explained every step of the process. Would highly recommend Speed Plumbing, Inc.
Unfortunately, High Speed plumbing was my 2nd call. The first guy to arrive said the whole toilet... seat and tank needed to be replaced, and it would cost $$$$. I believed it was the flapper valve, so I sent them on their way. Ron, and his helper Jaime, arrived from High Speed... took a look, told me it's your flapper valve... and it'll cost $$. 10 minutes later they were done and gone. Solid, respectful, and professional!!!
